Donald Trump is a Liberal!

He is!
President Donald J. Trump is a Liberal in the truer sense of the word. Democrats have their panties in a bunch again. I probably should say still since they're always manufacturing some crisis over something or other. They have no grip on reality. I could actually make a case that they are delusional. They think they are classical 'Liberals' and they have no idea what a Liberal is or what it means to be a Liberal. In order to claim the title Liberal you have to be tolerant of others. If someone sees the world differently than you you can't start shouting slogans at them. You can't yell "Sit down and shut up! Get out of here!" Yet that is what democrats do. Most of the classical philosophers could probably be considered Liberals I think although I don't know much about Philosophers. Not really. I took a philosophy class in college and didn't understand a thing they said and those are supposedly the great minds of the world.

The worst grade I ever got was in Philosophy. I studied hard too. Emanuel Kant. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Aquinas, Descartes, Nietzsche, Dante just to name a few. Some of them were wealthy, none of them were poor. It seemed to me that all of them had time to daydream. Nietzsche became brilliant basically for saying two things; "God is dead", and "become what you are." The first is patently false, even Nietzsche had a hard time proving it and the second is just stating the obvious since I had already done it years ago, I just didn't know I was so profound. I was not a good enough self promoter to get people to think statements like would have a profound impact on anyone and I'm more than a little surprised that they do.

That is also, unfortunately in my opinion, one of the skills a person needs to succeed at the university, even a private Christian university. The ability to make something mundane appear to be profound. One of the assignments we had was to write a philosophical paper on a current event. At the time abortion was the topic of discussion as the nation grappled with the question of Roe V Wade that hadn't been decided yet but was being hotly debated. Basically the question was should a woman have the right to kill her unborn child? Unfortunately the babies lost. Women who didn't want to be held accountable for their irresponsible behavior didn't want to be held accountable for their actions. Neither did their boyfriends/one night stands. I was, and still am, on the side of the babies.

Attending a private university run by a religious organization that was considered conservative at the time I thought I would be safe. Apparently in order to be a philosopher you can't have any emotion and that was not easy when talking about abortion because it seems to me that the entire subject is emotional. After all it's about murdering babies before they even have a chance to be born, The way that professor saw the world every conceivable sin was not a sin because people are too emotional. According to him (and this really caught me off guard) belief in God is emotional not rational. Apparently it's possible to be rational without using our emotional side, but you can't be emotional and rational at the same time.  Somehow he was hired by that university and eventually even became the Chair of the Philosophy department. Probably because nobody had any idea what he was talking about so they figured he was the perfect professor of philosophy.

What I thought would be a great learning experience turned out to be a near disaster. Who can ever argue with Rene Descarte who made the brilliant discovery that we know we are alive and that we are real because we can think; "I think therefore I am!" Conservatives hear stuff like that and shake their heads, there are a lot of ways that we know we exist and yes, I suppose thinking is one of them. Democrats hear that and it really sinks in, "Wow man, that's really deep. We need to spend a couple of years studying about how brilliant this guy is!" I know we're supposed to hate Bill Cosby these days, but he was a brilliant comedian with a lot of conservative ideas. One of his bits that I still remember is the one about the difference between a P.E. teacher and a philosophy teacher. He talked about the absurdity of debating things that were obvious. Philosophers will waste copious amounts of time contemplating the obvious: Philosophy teacher, "Why is their air?" the P.E. teacher, "To pump up basketballs why else!" I barely survived, escaping Philosophy with a C+ possibly because the professor felt sorry for a kid so hung up on emotion. What I learned from that professor was to stay away from philosophy discussions no matter what. It is a complete waste of time. I think there are two classes of people who study philosophy. The first one is rich kids who will never have to worry about how to make a living because the family trust is going to last for a very long time and the second one is poor kids who want to make a lot of money by becoming a lawyer. One thing a philosophy class does is teach people how to argue with each other for days about nothing.

I looked up the word 'Liberal' after listening to democrats tell people to sit down and shut up because they didn't know anything, especially democrats who won an election. It was a real eye opener. Democrats really should look up the word and see what it says, not that it will make any difference. Democrats can actually look at the definition and think it describes them. Here goes; "Willing to except or respect behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas." Granted that definition matches very few people. It definitely doesn't apply to the average democrat. There's another part of the definition of 'Liberal'.

"Relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise." Neither major political party fits the dictionary definition of Liberal. It actually takes a lot of self control to be a Liberal. It's easy to accuse other people of having small minds if your own brain is the size of a peanut. People who are Republicans or Democrats frequently make claims about each other that either don't make any sense or are just plain false. Burning the American flag as a form of protest is a good example. As far as I'm concerned  anyone burning the American flag in my presence is challenging me to a fight. Burning Old Glory is not a protest it is a declaration of war. Democrats think burning the American flag as a form of protest is a legitimate way to express disappointment with a government decision.  One side respects the sacrifices made by people defending our right to "peacefully assemble." The other side has no respect for the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have been killed and maimed fighting for their country. Republicans label anyone who burns an American flag in protest anti America. A liberal may have strong feelings one way or the other, but will be willing to talk about their difference with either side without getting violent or hating anyone. That's Donald Trump. He'll discuss a person's differences of opinion and attempt to reach an understanding until they start burning the American flag, looting and burning businesses, overturning people's cars and setting them on fire, or even dragging people from their cars and beating them senseless.

Most people would consider the latter course of action a rebellion instead of a protest. When a peaceful demonstration becomes so violent that the police are forced to take shelter inside their police station to avoid getting killed or injured it's time to declare martial law and mobilize the national guard. People who are Liberal try to stick to the facts as much as possible and don't see any reason to make up a lie to prove they are right. Once again democrats can't do that. Without any kind of proof they insist on labeling Donald Trump a pedophile and a rapist when there is no evidence to suggest he is guilty of such horrible crimes. President Trump has a few enemies inside his own party. He tried to get Vice President Pence to delay certifying the 2020 election until the evidences of election fraud had been investigated. He felt strongly that there had been widespread fraud and it needed to be corrected. He thought there was a good possibility that he won the election and he had some pretty solid evidence to back it up. Pence refused and a peaceful protest at the nations capitol turned into a riot.

Being a Liberal doesn't mean a person doesn't have an opinion on a subject only that a person is willing to carry on an honest conversation about differences of opinion. Classic Liberals don't need to destroy property or physically attack people to make a point. Theodore Roosevelt was hardly a man with no strong opinions about many things, but when a man shot him in the chest while he was giving a campaign speech and his followers immediately grabbed the assassin and started to beat him to death.  Roosevelt intervened and asked his assailant why he wanted to shoot him.

The point is Trump is willing to talk about anything with anyone. They don't have to agree with him and he's not going to insult them. Try that with the previous administration for example. Men can give birth to a baby when it is actually impossible, but tell a democrat that and you don't have a disagreement you are an enemy of the state. You're a Nazi, a fascist, you're destroying democracy. Global warming is another great example. Just about everybody in the country knows that the climate changes over time. It appears to be getting a little warmer now. So what? Put your sweaters away for a season. Democrats are saying, "Not so fast!" To them not only is it a reason to start a full blown panic among the American population, anyone who isn't panicked over it should be shunned.

It doesn't matter that there is no evidence to support their claims, they've spoken so there's no room for a discussion. "On your face! Give me twenty you rat turd sniffing scumbag!" There is nothing Liberal about the average democrat. They immediately started ordering everyone to buy solar panels for their homes and drive electric cars. It didn't matter that a lot of people couldn't afford either. Then they told everyone to sell their gas powered cars and ride the bus. People like Al Gore and John Kerry were flying all around the world alone in their private jets, aircraft large enough to carry a hundred passengers, but then where would those distinguished gentlemen sleep? Never mind the amount of pollution they are spewing into the atmosphere while they are delivering lectures on how much those of us who cannot afford such luxuries are contaminating everyone's air. Give me a break! Those are not Liberals they are charlatans who pretend to know something the rest of us don't.

Donald Trump may not be a true Lib, but he's a lot closer than any democrat. I like Liberals. They are wrong about a lot of things, but they get a lot of things right. The most important thing about them in my opinion is you can talk to them and they'll listen. They may think you are wrong, but they won 't hate you. To me that's the essence of being Liberal. You study an issue, give it some thought and make a decision. If someone has a different opinion then they can "agree to disagree." That's Donald Trump. As long as people are respectful they are free to have whatever opinion they want.

I respect that.
